Middlesbrough, who host Nottingham Forest on 21 November, are set to have a new manager in place over the next couple of days after deciding this week to part company with Gareth Southgate.

Gordon Strachan is the clear favourite to take over at the Riverside Stadium and will be inheriting a team that lies 4th in the table at the time of writing.

A famous football name meanwhile could be lining up against the Reds on 5th December if Leicester City seal a deal for Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids.

"He does have other options, but Leicester is very interesting to him," Davids' agent Robert Geerlings told BBC Radio Leicester.

"There will probably be a decision by the weekend."

Elsewhere in the transfer market, Dagenham left-back Scott Griffiths has moved to Peterborough, Sheffield United have snapped up free agent striker Henri Camara and Hull midfielder Bryan Hughes has joined Derby County on loan.
