Batty released from Leeds

The 35-year-old has been linked with a move to The City Ground ever since Joe Kinnear took the helm last week.

Kinnear has made no secret that a battling midfielder is next on his wanted list but has been looking around the loan market for potential targets.

If Batty was to link up with Forest it is likely to be until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Forest's exciting young defender Michael Dawson is likely to play for the reserves against Derby County on Tuesday night.

There has been a rumour suggesting David Johnson could even play some part in the match that kicks-off at 7pm.
