Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett has signed an extended deal at the City Ground.

The 25-year-old left-back, who joined Forest from Walsall in January 2006, has agreed a one-year contract until the summer of 2011.

Bennett has only just returned to action after more than 14 months on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury.

The full-back played 45 minutes for the reserves in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry on Tuesday.
