"I had a couple of chats with Premiership and Championship clubs but nothing came of it so I trained on my own and went to the gym to keep myself in good shape before Neil Warnock gave me a ring," he told the Sheffield United website.
"He wanted me to come down and train and it suited both me and the club and, in the end, I've signed until the January transfer window."
