Brighton Preview: Zamora Signing Signals Seagulls Intent

The Reds get the ball rolling on the new campaign on Friday night when they meet Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium in a meeting of two sides who will feel they underachieved last season and of two managers who are embarking on what they hope will be their first full campaign in charge.

The Seagulls will be looking to boost their productivity in front of goal after scoring 44 times in 46 games last season and signalled their intent to do so on Tuesday with the free transfer signing of vastly experienced striker Bobby Zamora.

Even before that, however, manager Chris Hughton had paired Sam Baldock with new arrival Tomer Hemed in his side's friendly matches and the duo look to have struck up a good understanding in the games, which culminated with Sunday's 1-0 win against Europa League winners Sevilla.
