Calderwood: Forest squad is strong enough

After chopping down the size of his squad, the City Ground boss said: "We have a tight group now. There is experience, with Breckin, Curtis, Gary Holt. We have goalscorers who have had a barren spell but who are ready to explode. We have enough strength in depth.

"There were various reasons for people leaving, but at the end of the day, I have to prove that it has been the right decision.

"Because we are smaller and tighter and every player is virtually guaranteed to be involved at the weekend, that will make the intensity and concentration good.

"But we also have the opportunity, if there are injuries or loans, to use the emergency loan situation. I have to take responsibility and I will prove the squad is good enough to take us up."
