Can Forest's Derby Hero Earn Euro 2016 Spot?

Having secured their place in France for Euro 2016, the Portuguese take on Russia and Luxembourg in matches which have given coach Fernando Santos the chance to look at some different options for his squad.

Santos has used a host of different players in his time in charge to date but, although there are great hopes of a new generation of Portuguese talent, a lack of goalscoring options has been a consistent problem with most hopes pinned on the shoulders of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The PortuGOAL website suggests that means a chance both for Oliveira, scorer of the vital goal against Derby County last Friday night, and also for Sheffield Wednesday talent Lucas Joao.

Jamie Ward won plenty of plaudits for his non-stop display against former club Derby and his place at Euro 2016, injury permitting looks secure.

Ward is part of the Northern Ireland squad that begins their build-up with a friendly at home to Latvia on Friday.
