Cardiff City versus Nottingham Forest: Head-to-Head

Last updated : 23 November 2011 By Forest

Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest meet in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with both sides in high spirits, City up to third in the table after their midweek draw at Coventry and Forest enjoying a new lease of life under Steve Cotterill.

And the Reds will be looking to improve on a poor record in South Wales, where they have won just 3 of 21 games played.

One of those victories came as recently as last season when a fine 2-0 win for Forest just over a year ago knocked their hosts off the top of the table.

Lewis McGugan and Dexter Blackstock scored the goals that day but Blackstock was then carried off having sustained a cruciate ligament injury he is only just returning from.

After playing for the reserves this week he told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I'm confident in the knee. I said I'd be back, and I'd probably be stronger.

"I'm fit. It's just a case of being match fit now. But it's not far away."
