Championship: Multiple Ownership On The Rise

Charlton Athletic were purchased last season by a Belgian businessman who now owns six clubs in his homeland and elsewhere while Sheffield Wednesday's recent takeover looks set to run on similar lines.

The Owls new supremo, Hafiz Mammadov, also owns French Ligue 1 club Lens and manager Stuart Gray said recently that he will use the link between the sides to improve his squad.

"It's to Sheffield Wednesday's, mine and the team's advantage."

Watford's ties with Udinese have led to a number of players from the Italian club being loaned to the Hornets in recent seasons and that has manifested itself again with the signing of Matej Vydra on a season-long loan after he netted 22 times for the club in the 2012/13 campaign when they just missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
