The pitch at the City Ground had been deemed playable, but after a torrent of snow and ice in the last few days the surrounding areas are unsafe for supporters.
City boss Keith Millen told his club's official website: "I'm disappointed because we're on a good run.
"It's another game we're now going to need to fit into the schedule somewhere during midweek later in the season.
"However, I must add the decision is understandable."
