Closed doors start for Forest as O'Driscoll seeks a Friend

With time in short supply for Sean O'Driscoll to get his squad up and running for the Championship season Forest will play Mansfield Town in a private friendly.

That comes after Monday's closed-doors game against Alfreton in which all members of the senior squad played for 45 minutes including Chris Cohen on his return from injury.

O'Driscoll meanwhile is being linked with a move to sign George Friend from his former club Doncaster Rovers but will have to move quickly to stop Middlesbrough doing a deal for the defender.

Forest's new manager was in charge at the Keepmoat Stadium when Friend moved there from Wolves in the summer of 2010.
