Derby County striker Kris Commons says he cannot wait to face Nottingham Forest on 29 December despite being assured of a vitriolic reception.Reds fan Commons joined the Rams from Forest in 2008 and his move along Brian Clough Way incensed City Ground fans.

But Commons: "It's the game most Derby fans have been waiting for. There is nothing better than a derby.

"When the fixtures come out it is the first match I look forward to and I will be all fired up and ready for it."

Commons, who was born in Newark and was a boyhood Forest supporter, spent four seasons with Forest and helped them clinch promotion from League One.

But he left in acrimonious circumstances after failing to agree a new deal and joined Derby.

Commons added: "I have quite a few Forest friends and family who will no doubt try to put a bit too much brandy in my Christmas pud or try to give me a dead leg!"
