The 33-year-old moved to the City Ground from Wigan Athletic last summer and although a regular under Gary Megson, did not feature in Forest's excellent late season run.

Crewe are tracking him according to the Evening Sentinel in case they lose right-back Jon Otsemobor.

The former Liverpool man is a target for Queens Park Rangers.
