Davies desperate for new blood

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is determined to add some fresh faces to his squad as he tries to manage the growing injury crisis at the City Ground.

Kelvin Wilson, Wes Morgan, Nathan Tyson, David McGoldrick were already on the sidelines before Joel Lynch limped off after just 15 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 friendly defeat at Peterborough.

Former loanee Radoslaw Majewski joined the club on a permanent basis in May but there have since seen no new arrivals and Davies told the Nottingham Evening Post: "Last season we were two or three pieces short of the jigsaw puzzle. I felt that would take us up to a certain level.

"On top of that, I think we need to bring in three or four new faces. And, with you and me being good mathematicians, you can work out what that means. We need a few more players. I have put the names forwards, we will see what happens."

Davies added: "The squad we named at Peterborough was the 17 fit senior players we had fit. Out of that group, we had (Julian) Bennett who is miles away and needs to go out on loan, you have (Brendan) Moloney who is miles away and needs to go out on loan and you have one or two others, such as (Matt) Thornhill, who probably need to go to a different level.

"At the moment, because of what we have got, we are having to play these lads and they may yet be part of the new season."
