Deadline Day Frustrating but not Fatal for Forest

Much of Monday was taken up with talk about whether Kyle Ebecilio’s loan stay at the City Ground had or had not been terminated.

The Nottingham Post was the place to go to for much of the detail until Nottingham Forest themselves confirmed late in the evening that the Dutch youngster had parted company with the club after an agreement with FC Twente.

That seemingly left too little time for Dougie Freedman to pursue a deal for the striker he had been eyeing from Le Havre in France.

Frustration for Freedman, then, but the Scot will have become used to such situations under the complex Financial Fair Play restrictions and what they do and do not allow him leeway to do.

Having an extra body, and an extra option in attack would have been a bonus but Freedman has kept all of the players that he wanted to and has his squad well-versed in how he wants to play and what their roles are in that.
