Defiant in defeat: Cotterill delighted with Forest displays

Although they have secured safety in the Championship there has been no let up in performance from the Reds and their manager was left to feel aggrieved by the 2-1 reverse at Hull on Saturday which came days after a narrow defeat to Reading.

"It is just a shame that, in the last two games, we have not got what we have deserved," he said.

"In the last two games, we deserved to have picked up four points, if not more. That is the least we should have had.

"People will look at this and see that we lost 2-1. But we could have won by four. The score does not tell the story."

Cotterill's former club Portsmouth come to the City Ground next weekend to round off a season that has been a tough one with both clubs for the 47-year-old but which ends with him able to reflect on a job well done with the Reds.
