Evening Post hits back in Megson row

Megson has broken off contact with the newspaper after taking objection to their 'I have no idea' headline on Monday.

Although the Post has held its hands up about two previous incidents that riled the Forest boss it states: 'Our reporter was given time to ask only one question. And the Evening Post story fairly and accurately reflected what the manager chose to say.

The newspaper regrets Gary Megson's course of action. We had been striving, quietly, to smooth the relationship which had become rocky recently. But his unfair and unjustified public attack requires a response.

Before the latest development, the Evening Post had written thousands of words in many stories about Forest.

We reported positively the efforts of the team and manager as they tried to avoid relegation. We told fans about the club's efforts and determination to bounce back this season.'
