"But that performance did not help us at all. It was a kick in the teeth and it is back to basics now.
"A lot of our players were exceedingly poor. The better team won on the night, but it was an awful goal for us to concede - when a free-kick goes through what's supposed to be a defensive wall.
"We were second best to a team that played with a lot more spirit."
