The 29-year-old Slovenian international will provide an extra option at left-back for manager Dougie Freedman after the injury blow suffered by Daniel Pinillos and Reds fans will hope Jokic is as impressive a capture as Pinillos having also arrived from Spanish football earlier this season.
Gary Gardner has also agreed a loan return to the City Ground from Aston Villa, the midfielder having made 18 Forest appearances in his previous spell.
The captures represent a good week in the transfer market for Freedman.
Although his options are clearly limited by the FFP restrictions that have been put in place on the club, it perhaps makes his recruitment easier in the sense that he is not chasing unrealistic targets.
The final days of the January window may see another flurry of activity but for the next couple of weeks it should be a relatively calm picture as the Reds aim to continue their recent, improved form.
