A hard-fought game between the Championship rivals was settled in the final 20 minutes as a James Vaughan own goal and Henri Lansbury's strike sent Forest through to the 3rd Round.
Stuart Pearce made a number of changes for the game but will be pleased to see his side remain unbeaten in competitive matches under his charge and the competition for places that has been generated.
"We feel as though with some boys coming back from injury and what we've added, we've got a squad that's capable of challenging," said assistant manager Steve Wigley after the game.
