Deemed surplus to requirements at the City Ground during the short-term, frontman Garner made a move to Huddersfield Town during the close season, a deal that delighted Terriers boss Lee Clark.

Clark has started Garner in both of his side's games to date and has seen the former Blackburn man play his part in two victories.

"There’s a great bunch of lads here and the spirit is good," said the striker.

"The manager is ambitious, his staff are very good and the squad is more than decent."

Bennett meanwhile was a late addition to the Crystal Palace squad prior to the start of the season with boss George Burley having no qualms about pitching the defender in to last Saturday's opener against Leicester City.

The Eagles have also won both of their fixtures to date and Bennett earned plenty of praise for his display against the Foxes.
