Forest Play Down Financial Fears

Last updated : 04 June 2014 By Forest

A £200,000 catering debt which led to a petition for a winding-up order on Monday has been settled but HMRC are now reportedly pursuing the club for a £1.8m tax debt.

In addition, Forest have said that a slight delay to wages was due to a national holiday in Kuwait which affected club owner Fawaz Al Hasawi.

A club spokesman, quoted in the Nottingham Post, said: "The bank transfer period was delayed due to a national holiday in Kuwait. All playing staff have now been paid.

"(In reference to) the winding up order, the club can confirm all outstanding monies owed will be reviewed and paid in due course."
