Forest the model for Sky Blues boss

As a disappointing season fizzles out at the Ricoh Arena, Coleman feels that Coventry could benefit from a similar summer in the transfer market to that enjoyed by Billy Davies in the close season.

“Take away Newcastle and West Brom who both came down from the Premier League with the biggest budgets and biggest squads,” he said, quoted in the Coventry Telegraph.

“Other than that, Forest have spent money and what have they got?

"They are dynamic and got pace and power, and they are able to chop and change."

And Davies did indeed chop and change for Saturday's trip to Blackpool, maintaining that his starting XI for the play-off games is already clear in his mind.

"It was a very good exercise," he told BBC Radio Nottingham despite the Bloomfield Road defeat.

"I'm delighted as it allowed us to play some players, give them some minutes and rest one or two.

"Being guaranteed a play-off spot, it gives us the opportunity to go and have a look at one or two things."
