The former Leicester utility man decided to join Premiership new boys West Bromich Albion over Norwich City and indeed Nottingham Forest.
Midfielder Danny Sonner is currently looking for a new club after Forest boss Joe Kinnear decided not to offer the Northern Ireland international a new deal.
His current contract runs out this month but if he fails to find a new destination then Kinnear has said he will review the situation in August.
