Forest to Follow the Sheffield Wednesday Route?

Last updated : 14 March 2016 By Forest

Premier League trends, it seem, filter down to the Championship in time and the Nottingham Post suggests that the starting point for Freedman's successor will be overseas.

That is the route that Saturday's victors, Sheffield Wednesday, went down last summer when replacing the experienced Stuart Gray with Carlos Carvalhal and the Portuguese has become a big favourite amongst Owls supporters.

With Aitor Karanka (up until a reported bust-up last week) having guided Middlesbrough into the thick of the promotion race once again and Huddersfield Town opting for David Wagner over a British boss, the early names in the frame to take over from Freedman may be wide of the mark.

Nigel Pearson heads the betting, with mentions for Nigel Clough and Garry Monk among others, but the next permanent boss at the City Ground may be someone completely unheralded at present.
