Forest Winger Backed To Star - But Will He Stay With Reds?

The 23-year-old is due to enter his third season as a Nottingham Forest player having made as many substitute appearances for the club as he has made Championship starts.

Prior to moving to the City Ground, Paterson came up through the ranks at Walsall and Saddlers boss Dean Smith is still a big fan of the player.

With Walsall drawn against the Reds in the opening round of the Capital One Cup, Smith said this week: "He (Paterson) spent an awful lot of last season on the bench but he was a phenomenon the year before, scoring a dozen goals I think.

"He probably didn't get the run he wanted last season but I'm sure he will be working hard this pre-season, especially knowing he's playing Walsall the second game of the season."
