Francis, who had managerial spells most recently at Crystal Palace and Birmingham, thinks he's up to the task of keeping Forest in the First Division.

He told Sublimefootball.com: "I've still got a lot of affection for Forest and would be very interested if they wanted me to manage them,"

"They are obviously having a bad time at the moment, but I've got the experience to help them through it."

Joe Kinnear is the latest name to be thrown around the rumour mill but Glenn Hoddle still remains the bookies favourite.

A close friend of Stuart Pearce has reportly revealed that City boss Kevin Keegan has given him the green light to go to the City Ground.

They told The Daily Mirror: "Stuart has made it quite clear he will be putting in his application as soon as possible and he hopes he will be seriously considered."

Pearce's close friend Nigel Clough, who is manager at Burton Albion, has still refused to comment on speculation regarding his future.
