Freedman Stays Upbeat After Wednesday Edge It

As so often this season, the Reds fought hard throughout but were just on the wrong side of a result that leaves them 17th in the Championship.

Manager Dougie Freedman continues to battle the odds against sides like Sheffield Wednesday who have spent heavily on new players but his efforts will be in vain if results do not improve soon as rumours grow of yet another managerial change at the City Ground.

Speaking after Fernando Forestieri scored the only goal of the game, Freedman said: "We have a lot of injuries, but I refuse to use that as an excuse for the result.

"I have been in this position before as a manager and as a player. You have to persevere with what you're trying to do.

"We are trying very hard to put it right, on and off the field. Things can change very quickly in this division and I honestly think they will change."
