The former Blackburn trainee joined Carlisle on loan 2007 before making the switch permanent at the beginning of the 2007-08 season.
He impressed at Brunton Park and joined Forest in the summer of 2008, and was also on loan at Huddersfield earlier this season, making 16 appearances.
