'Great character, great concentration and great discipline.'

The Reds moved back into a top two position in the Championship with their second hard-fought win of the week over a team battling to finish in the play-off places, breaking a club record of consecutive home wins in the process.

"The run of home victories pleases me enormously but so does the fact that it was our 15th clean sheet," said Davies afterwards, delighted with the spirit shown by his players as they head into the run-in.

Forest now have a well-earned break from midweek action before what promises to be an intense local derby at Leicester next Saturday.

In the meantime they can sit back and cheer on Bristol City as they face the Reds' promotion rivals West Brom on Sunday.
