Avram Grant's Premier League strugglers eased past Barnsley on Saturday to book their place in the last 32 while Nottingham Forest were coming from behind to defeat Preston North End.
The tie is a repeat of a 3rd Round game which took place at Upton Park in 2003 when the Reds twice took the lead but were eventually beaten by goals from Jermain Defoe (2) and Joe Cole.
4th Round ties will take place on the weekend of 29 and 30 January.
