A return to the City Ground has been mooted for Hart, who has been away from management since leaving Barnsley but who is keeping involved in the game as an unpaid advisor to Rushden & Diamonds boss Barry Hunter.
He said recently: "I have offered to advise Barry, as a personal favour to him.
"I have not asked to be paid and am still looking for a suitable position in management."
