Jack and Jon gone

Strikers Jack Lester and Mickael Antoine-Curier have been shown the door as has Norwegian defender Jon Olav Hjelde.

Jack Lester and Jon Olav Hjelde were among the higher earners at the club whereas Mickael Antoine-Curier failed to break into the first team.

Their contracts were due to end in June but Forest have released them now in a bid to help them secure other clubs before next season.

Hjelde signed from Rosenborg before the 97/98 season when Forest were promoted back to the Premiership and Jack Lester played over 100 times after being signed for £300,000 from Grimsby by David Platt in 2000.

A number of First Division clubs may be interested in Jack Lester who scored 24 goals for Forest altogether. His former club Grimsby expressed an interest earlier this year but their relegation to Division Two may have now restricted funds.

Jon Olav Hjelde is expected to make a return to his native Norway whereas Mickael Antoine-Curier's availability could grab Brentford's attention following his loan spell there towards the end of this season.

Nottinghamforest-mad would like to thank Jack Lester and Jon Olav Hjelde for their services to Nottingham Forest FC and we wish them well for the future.
