Kinnear eyes Robbie

The 39-year-old, who can be seen on ITV1's The Premiership as part of his TV media work, is rated highly by Kinnear who spent seven years with him during his stay with the Dons.

Kinnear said: "Robbie Earle was going to have been my number two when I was offered the Sheffield Wednesday job and I always felt he had a good future as a coach and a manager.

"He's gone into media work now, but I still speak to Robbie at least once a week and without giving too much out, I'm hoping to get him involved two days a week.

"He's contracted to do his television and media work but he's man with a great knowledge and he's of the right material to make a top-class coach."

Earle scored 76 goals in 350 appearances for Wimbledon following his move from Port Vale for £775,000 in July 1991 and played for Jamaica at the World Cup finals in France 1998.

Thankfully fellow ITV1's The Premiership pundit Ron Atkinson won't be returning with him.
