Kinnear told the club's official website: "I spoke to Alan Pardew about the possibility of signing Brian on loan,"
"He wants to keep hold of him as he is on the bench, so that situation is on hold at the moment."
Forest expect to complete the formalities of Alan Rogers and Andy Impey's loan moves today. It was also revealed that former manager Paul Hart tried to sign Rogers on loan prior to his loan move to Wigan earlier this season but Micky Adams didn't feel it was the right time.
