The on-loan striker, so prolific at Coventry City earlier in the season, is making a big impact at Ipswich and netted a vital late goal to secure three points for the Suffolk men against Leicester City on Saturday.
In doing so he capitalised on a mistake by his former City Ground colleague Wes Morgan.
Quoted in the East Anglian Daily Times, McGoldrick said of: "He is a good friend, I rate him really highly and I think he is the best defender in the Championship, but luckily I was able to nick the ball off him and I will be thanking him with a little text later."
