Despite battling back from a goal down against Bournemouth at the City Ground, the Reds were unable to get the winning goal that would have taken them back into the play-off places, meaning a nailbiting finale next weekend.

McParland told the club website: "We never gave them a sniff in the second half and although Bournemouth defended well, they also rode their luck.

"Our lads know they should have had three points."
