Megson defiant as pressure grows

League One's bottom side heaped more pressure on Megson with a 1-0 win that leaves the Reds slipping further away from a play-off place.

The City Ground supremo said afterwards: "I don't jack things in and I've got no intention of starting to do that now.

"I've told people that before and I won't be changing my mind.

"It was a poor result but not a poor performance - there was never going to be any champagne football played with 10 players missing.

"Six or seven of those players that I've got missing would have started this game and when you have got to cope with that you've got to take your chances early.

"We didn't and went on to concede a poor goal. And when there is a complete lack of confidence it is difficult when you go a goal down."
