Nottingham Forest Versus Burnley

Last updated : 23 November 2013 By Forest

Nottingham Forest took on league leaders Burnley at the City Ground on Saturday looking to bring back home the form they showed in the 2-0 win at Leicester on their last Championship outing but with a number of defensive injury problems to contend with.

Their resolve at the back would be tested to the full by a Clarets side for whom star striker Danny Ings was back after scoring twice on his debut for England Under-21's in midweek. Ings also netted a double against Forest in the League Cup earlier this season.

Team News: Jack Hobbs recovered from a virus to take his place in the starting XI and ease the strain slightly on Davies' resources. Eric Lichaj and Raddy Majewski replaced the injured David Vaughan and Andy Reid.

David Edgar came in for Dean Marney in the Burnley side.

1st Half: Forest dominated the proceedings in the opening 45 minutes but were undone by Gonzalo Jara's handball just before the half hour mark, Sam Vokes converting the penalty. The Reds kept pushing, however, and were rewarded when Simon Cox levelled things up just before the break.

2nd Half: The hosts continued to dominate after the break, Darius Henderson replacing Jamie Paterson for a late push at getting a winning goal in front of 22,877 but to no avail. Plenty of positives, however, with Forest the better side against the league leaders and still occupying a play-off place.

More to come on Forest Mad throughout the day.
