Nottm Forest V Birmingham at The City Ground - Match Preview

Danny Collins and Jamie Paterson come back into the reckoning for Nottingham Forest as they prepare to host Birmingham.

Central defender Collins missed the 5-2 defeat to QPR through suspension while Paterson's return from illness will bolster caretaker manager Gary Brazil's options in attack.

David Vaughan was in the squad for the first time in two months at Loftus Road after recovering from a knee injury. He was an unused substitute in west London but the on-loan Sunderland midfielder this week topped up his fitness with a 45-minute run out for the Under-21 team and he will hope to get back out on the pitch against Blues on Saturday.

A first win in 13 matches is vital for Forest if they are to keep alive their Sky Bet Championship play-off hopes.

Birmingham will be without top scorer Lee Novak at the City Ground. The former Huddersfield striker injured his knee in the 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough last time out and is set to miss the rest of the season.

Nikola Zigic is Novak's likely replacement, while Tom Adeyemi and Jordon Ibe could also be handed recalls as the Blues look to ease their relegation fears. Lee Clark's side are only three points above the drop zone, although they do have a game in hand on their rivals
