The former England international goalkeeper has left a role with Conference Premier side Kidderminster Harriers in order to move to the City Ground.
Although known for his work between the posts, Flowers has worked as a manager, assistant manager and coach since hanging up his boots.
***Update*** The Reds have to yet to confirm Flowers' arrival but have 'agreed in principle' that Steve Wigley and Brian Eastick will be part of the backroom team.
