Premiership plan for new Forest boss

The 41-year-old Scot was entrusted on Tuesday with the task of taking Nottingham Forest back into the big-time and has made no secret of his ambitions.

"My expectation is promotion, that is not setting the goals too high," said Calderwood.

"If the players were all sat in here now, they would all believe we have an outstanding chance of success.

"At the end of pre-season I want them to firmly believe that, because of the work we have done and the structure we have put in."
 
Asked about a return to the Premiership, the former Northampton Town manager added: "Within the three years? We would all be happy with that.

"The first step, the biggest step will be to get out of this league. When you have done that you can adjust. There is no use just talking about the Premiership, it is where we want to be.

"How ever long it takes, it will take."
