Preston North End v Nottingham Forest: Betting Preview

Last updated : 01 November 2015 By Forest

After another hard-fought but ultimately disappointing outcome at Hillaborough on Saturday, Nottingham Forest are on their travels again on Tuesday night when they meet Preston North End at Deepdale in the Championship.

Preston fought out a goalless draw against Bolton Wanderers at home on Saturday evening and three of their last four games have ended with the same scoreline.

Their total of ten goals is the lowest (with Bolton) in the Championship but is only one less than Nottingham Forest have managed themselves to date this season.

Despite their struggles, however, both sides have been relatively sound defensively with Preston conceding 13 and Forest 15 which is less than some clubs in the top half of the division.

So, as we wrote when previewing the Sheffield Wednesday game, there looks likely to be little in the contest as with all but one of the Reds away games so far this campaign and either of the teams to win by a single goal (PNE 13/5, Forest 4/1) looks of interest.

Joe Garner, who made 48 league appearances for Forest during his time at the City Ground, will be feeling the weight of Preston’s search for goals as he is yet to get off the mark for the season. He is 11/2 to net first while Jamie Ward (8/1) is in a similar situation for the Reds after missing a good chance to get his first for the club at Hillsborough.
