Reid slams Forest chairman

The £7m-rated star, who was heavily linked with Tottenham at the end of last season, looks set to begin the season as a Forest player despite being "rested" for the 0-0 draw with League Two side Lincoln City.

Reid told the Sunday Mirror: "I'm desperate to play in the Premiership and want to do it with Forest but I can see us heading for another relegation fight because no money is being spent.

"The chairman is just not coming up with the goods and it's a shambles. We need at least three new players that will get us promoted, not just players making up the numbers.

"Everybody here talks about promotion but absolutely nothing has been done about it. The club say they are ambitious but we have seen no evidence at all, we've had free transfers and that's it.

"We were promised sexy signings but where are they? They can talk about the Premiership but why not do something about it?"

The marketing campaign for season tickets for the 2004/05 season carried the slogan: "We're serious about promotion, are you?" but if Reid's comments are anything to go by, it could be a long year for Forest fans.
