A left-foot strike by Birmingham's Jamie Clapham sealed the win for the St. Andrews outfit ten minutes from full-time.

His drive from 20-yards beat Forest 'keeper Barry Roche before hitting the post and going in after Forest had weathered the storm in the second half.

Gavin Hurren, Wes Morgan and Barry Roche made impressive performances but couldn't manage to hold on for an all important draw in front of watching manager Joe Kinnear with his non-playing staff.

Kevin James, who is pushing for a first-team place following his free transfer from Gillingham, played at right-back for the first-half  but switched up-front for the second following some dangerous, pacey runs inbto the Birmingham box.

He was unlucky not to gain the Reds a point after his placed shot in the last minute was blocked from only six-yards out.
