Steve Cotterill, who refused to accept afterwards that his side are safe from relegation, was pleased with the performance put in by his players as they took the game to the play-off chasing Seasiders.

"Talking to their bench after the game they said that no team has put them under the kind of pressure that we did today," he said afterwards.

"If there was a stand-out performance today it was from their goalkeeper, who made some fantastic saves."

Gilks was also praised by his manager Ian Holloway, who felt the visitors turned in a decent display.

"We looked solid, played some good football and were close to playing 'not bad at all'.

"I just thought we were guilty of trying to walk the ball into the net in the first half when we could have had a go."
