Season as it happened - December

December starts in the worst possible fashion as League Two strugglers Chester despatch Forest 3-0 in the FA Cup second round.

Manager Megson cannot hide his anger after the game, saying: "Apart from Wes Morgan, not one player could say they were remotely pleased with their performance. A lot aren't doing enough to justify being selected.

"We've lost to Macclesfield in the Carling Cup, we lost to Woking in the LDV, and now come to Chester and lost."

Forest recover slightly with a home win against Port Vale and a City Ground draw against Walsall.

Away form lets them down again though as Scunthorpe run out 3-1 winners at Glanford Park to complete a double over the Reds.

A 4-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day helps to lift the gloom and a dismal year ends with a 0-0 draw against Chesterfield on New Year's Eve.
