Season as it happened - October

Last updated : 11 May 2006 By Forest

The month begins with a 1-0 home win against Tranmere and praise for match-winning sub Gareth Taylor from boss Megson, who says: "I didn't know whether the boos were for me taking Jack Lester off, or for Gareth for not going to Sheffield United a couple of weeks ago.

"Whatever they were, it wasn't the greatest introduction and he showed what he is about by scoring the goal that mattered."

Away form is again the problem though and former Reds target Freddy Eastwood scores the only goal of a televised clash against Southend before Forest bounce back with a 2-0 home win over Hartlepool.

Things turn sour again straight away. First, Forest lose 3-2 against non-league Woking in the LDV Vans Trophy and then they are thumped 3-0 at Yeovil.

After the game, Megson invites two travelling fans in to the dressing room to blast his players who respond with another home win and another clean sheet, against Bradford.

The search for a striker continues as the club confirm they have made a bid for Wycombe Wanderers hotshot Nathan Tyson.
