"We have been looking for that striker for a number of months, it is not just something that has been happening for days or weeks," he told the Evening Post after Saturday's defeat by Wolves, who have today completed the loan signing of Marlon Harewood.
"We need that because it will help the likes of Garner, Tyson and Earnshaw if we can bring that type of player to the club.
"The problem still remains - a certain sort of striker is required at the football club, we know that."
