Taylor pleased to escape from 'long-ball' League One

Crewe swooped to sign the 32-year-old on loan for the rest of the season after he was transfer-listed by Nottingham Forest earlier in the week.

"I'm pleased to get back into the Championship," said Taylor.

"If you're going to play football in League One, you'll do quite well, but if you're going to play long ball, teams are more set up to prepare for that. It's a tough division.

"While my reputation is for being good in the air, I like playing football and Crewe have a pedigree. I'm pleased to be here."
